With the current panorama of rising energy costs, it is important to say that TENSAI's constant investment over the years to remain more environmentally and energy sustainable has contributed to a reduction in the company's consumption.

However, the extraordinary scenario experienced during 2022, caused by the constant rise in energy prices, has put additional pressure on finding solutions to reduce energy consumption at TENSAI. These include careful management of work shifts, changing production processes, analyzing consumption, adjusting machine start-ups, reinforcing work during periods of greater sun exposure, among others. As João Teixeira explained, this proactivity has led to a reduction in consumption since the beginning of the year of around 25% compared to the same period last year, despite the fact that even so, this efficiency in processes is not enough to keep up with the rapid rise in energy bills every month.

With two industrial units (TENSAI INDÚSTRIA and TENSAI FURNITURE) in the same industrial complex, located in Estarreja, harmony and efficiency in a more careful management of energy resources is fundamental, since one of the units is both a producer (its own line of plastic furniture products) and a supplier to the other (with plastic components for TENSAI INDÚSTRIA's refrigeration equipment).
