TENSAI, a Portuguese company with over three decades of experience, was recently featured in the Valor Económico newspaper, in an interview conducted by journalist Miguel Ângelo. From Distributor to Leader in Cold Equipment Production
TENSAI's history began in 1986 with the distribution of electronic products from Asian brands such as LG and Samsung. However, the need to adapt to a changing market led to the official creation of the company in 1989, with the acquisition of a freezer factory in Aveiro.
This was the turning point: "From then on, it was always growing. We've never stopped, until today." This strategic move transformed TENSAI from a distributor into a producer, allowing it to grow and position itself in the refrigeration sector.
TENSAI currently exports 98% of its production to markets such as Spain, France and Italy, and maintains a strong presence in countries such as Angola, where for years it was the leader in the refrigeration market.

Customized Solutions and Sustainability as Strategic Pillars
Proximity to the customer and flexibility in production are two of the main pillars of TENSAI's success. The company develops customized solutions, adapted to the specific needs of each market.
Sustainability has also always been a priority. Since 2011, TENSAI has operated a 1 megawatt photovoltaic park, which guarantees energy autonomy on sunny days and allows it to export the surplus. The commitment to the environment is also reflected in the production of durable and energy-efficient equipment, which meets the demands of sectors such as the hotel and food industry.
LOTI: Diversification for the Health Area
One of TENSAI's most innovative projects is LOTI - LORD OF THE ICE, a device for immersion in ice water between 0°C and 4°C, designed for physical and mental recovery. This product, launched just five months ago, has already reached international markets and reinforces TENSAI's ability to apply its refrigeration know-how to new sectors.
"LOTI's success reflects our ability to diversify and innovate," said Manuel João Preto.

TENSAI's new 20,000 square meter plant is under construction and marks a new era in the company's history. This space will be equipped with artificial intelligence, enabling consumption monitoring, remote maintenance and logistics optimization.
